Aleah Taboclaon is a mental health counselor and trainer (specializing on domestic abuse and child sexual abuse), and a freelance writer and editor.

Her fiction and non-fiction work have been published in national dailies, online and print magazines, and included in an anthology. Some of her stories have also been included in the reading curricula of literature classes in some universities in the Philippines.

Aleah graduated with honors with a BA degree in English, majoring in Creative Writing, and has finished all academic requirements for a Master's degree in Psychology (Clinical). She has over 12 years' experience in proofreading, editing, and writing, and more than 8 years in the mental health field.

From 2003 up to present, Aleah has been working as a counselor to abused women and sexually/physically abused children and adolescents. She conducts psychological assessment, individual and group therapy, and also gives Basic Counseling Skills training to social workers and other mental health professionals. Aleah's areas of concentration--aside from para-professional counseling--are on personal development, child sexual abuse, and domestic abuse.

Aleah has other interests as well that keep her sane. She has a blog covering her solo travels, her foodie adventures, and her happiness when running. If you're on Facebook, she will appreciate you liking her travel page, Solitary Wanderer. She has another fan page as well, Visit Puerto Galera, that aims to provide useful tips for people who are traveling there, and Adventuring Foodie featuring the dishes she has encountered during her trips.
